This photo gallery is a follow up to last week’s article about screen protectors for the N97 and which to get. I had mentioned that my N97 started to develop very small scratches on the screen which were only visible at certain angles. I didn’t have pictures at the time so author Timi was nice enough to send me some images of his scratches on the top of a Clarivue screen protector he has covering his N97.

Click the photos for high resolution…

Hopefully these images are enough to convince you to protect your N97 if you haven’t already.

My white N97 came with a surface protector. After only 4 weeks of intensive use the protector shows heavy scratching. Even though I've only carried it in my pocket by itself: no keys, coins, etc. Can only conclude that the scratching is caused by my nails when tapping and sliding items on the screen. The scratching is so bad that it really reduces the visibility of pictures and movies.
But at least I can replace it with a new one for less than 10 euros

    These pictures are worthles..!

Al the scratches are on the screenprotector, so these picture are worth nothing..
The material of the screenprotector are from a other material than the physical screen itself and the screen protector is more prone to scratching than the physical screen.

That doesnt take away that it is wise to use a screenprotector, but i was just criticizing the pictures.

Al the scratches are on the screenprotector, so these picture are worth nothing..

Indeed. The screenprotector that came with my N97 lasted about a month before it was hideously scratched. Eventually the metal triangle in the corner snagged on my belt and so I took it off. WIthout the screenprotector the screen is so more vivid! Everything looks brighter and after 2 weeks, not a scratch to be seen on the actual screen. Am using a “sock” inside my jean pockets just in case tho!
